Areola & Nipple Repigmentation

Nipple/areola tattooing is a great way for men and women who are displeased with the appearance of their areola and/or nipples to get a revised look.

There are a variety of factors that alter the shape of someone's nipples and/or areolas. Whether from pregnancy, imbalanced hormones, breastfeeding, weight fluctuations, genetics, breast cancer, or something else, this is something that many women and men may feel self-conscious about. At iContour Anti-Aging Center, our incredibly talented team performs this procedure to reduce and reposition the nipples and/or areolas to get an appearance that you desire and are more comfortable with. Rather than a surgical procedure with long recovery periods, we offer micro-pigmentation, or cosmetic tattooing, to create a natural, 3D appearance with virtually no downtime. For more information on this procedure, contact iContour Anti-Aging Center in Boston, MA today.

Nipple and areola corrective procedures at iContour Anti-Aging Center are easier than they may seem. Before this in-office procedure, we'll have a one-on-one consultation to discuss your concerns, desires, and to provide our professional opinion on the best course of action. When we're ready to begin your procedure, we'll have you lie back comfortably in one of our procedure rooms. From there, one of our licensed permanent makeup artists will use a cosmetic tattooing instrument to provide the shape and size nipple and/or areola you desire. Your procedure may last between 1 – 2 hours, depending on your treatment plan details. When we are completed with your procedure, we will cover your nipples and areolas with a protective dressing that will keep your treatment area clean and away from harm as it heals. You may experience some tenderness right after your procedure, but this is normal and will fade rather quickly. It's important to follow at-home cleaning and care instructions. While this is a long-term procedure, touch-ups may be necessary throughout the years.

Is areola and nipple repigmentation safe?

Yes, for the majority of patients, nipple-areola tattooing with medical-grade pigments is considered safe and effective. We use only single-use needles and medically sterilize all equipment. With proper aftercare, the risk of infection or complications is extremely low.

Does areola and nipple repigmentation hurt?

Most patients experience little to no discomfort during the procedure. Before we begin, we can use a topical anesthetic to numb the treatment area and keep you comfortable. After the procedure, it is normal to experience mild tenderness on the treated areas, but it typically subsides fairly quickly.

How long does areola and nipple repigmentation usually take?

Most procedures take about 1 – 2 hours.

How long is recovery after an areola and nipple repigmentation procedure?

Healing is unique to each patient, but most will recover in about 7 – 10 days. During this time, there may be scabbing or flaking skin, which is normal.

If you, for whatever reason, feel self-conscious about the size, shape, or overall look of your nipples and/or areolas, areola and nipple enhancement at iContour Anti-Aging Center may be an ideal solution.
